The server doesn't "solve" anything automatically.  It provides a couple of 
processes that allow you to zoom and pan at the same time.  You have to 
customise your installation to use these new processes.  That is, if you 
want to use these processes you have to call them in some fashion - either 
by a menu item, a toolbar or a keyboard shortcut.  You have to set these 
customisations up yourself.  The included readme.html file says this but I 
did not include any help on doing these customisations, I just assumed this 
knowledge - there is info on this available in help files and in archives 
of the various forums.

I very much prefer *not* having any pan when I zoom - I really don't like 
having to shift the centre of focus of my eyes and re-synch to what I am 
looking at. I find it much better to have the centre of focus remain fixed 
on the screen.  However, a long time ago, there was one user that was so 
angry about the lack of panning when zooming that I wrote this simple 
server to stop all the agro.
