Hi Ian,
Well good try but we are still running W2000. I tried holding the ALT
key like this feature would have required and as Terry had suggested. Doesn't
work on W2000, when I tried hitting the ALT key it closed the drop-down menu.
Holding the Alt key and then clicking the drop down menus, they only stayed
open as long as you held the left mouse button down and yet still no underlines.

You will remember that I also pointed out that the underlines were
there in other Microsoft programs, WORD specifically but also Excel. That had
me ruling out a user general OS system config option as the cause.

Thanks guys, it is surely something OS or config related (something outside of
P99SE) since some seem to have it and others don't. Not such a big deal but I
wanted to be able to fix it for our rookie user just to reduce their learning
curve so it was a little less steep. Now they just have to get past the first
key stroke to the pop-up menus and then the underlined letters are there on the
pop-up menus.

Brad,

There is an XP option to hide the underline until you hit the ALT key.

"Display Properties", "Appearance" tab, then "Effects" then have a
look at the option:
"Hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key""
