Many people here, including myself, prefer 99SE even though we have later versions and some of us even use the later versions off and on. I have AD SP 4 and avoid using it unless I absolutely have to. I have done several boards for clients that could not, or would not, upgrade to 99SE. I have also done a lot of simulation in AD, which is not really available in 99SE. I absolutely hate the new schematics interface and can not stand the new PCB user interface. I find myself being a lot less productive in AD than in 99SE. Features like using control, alt and shift with the scroll wheel do increase productivity, but they do not come anywhere near making up for productivity losses in other areas. It is a *MAJOR* step backwards and a *MAJOR* downgrade. I have communicated directly with Altium sales and support and their position is that they are aware of the issues as well as several long standing bugs but are not interested in fixing them because they can still sell the software without needing to fix the bugs. > This list is close to dead, that to me says how many 99SE users > are still left. That would be true if this were a site for social banter. However, in a forum like this questions come up when someone is either learning the software initially or expanding what they do with it or trying something new. Silence does not mean that no one is continuing to use the software.
