Daniel, Leo,
There need not be any problem with mismatched reference points if you
set them in each CAM Manager script to be the same. I believe they come up by
default to reference relative origin for Gerbers and reference absolute origin
for NC Drills. But that is readily user changed in about 2 seconds. I typically
set both of mine to reference relative origin for both, having set my
user/relative origin in the lower left corner of the board every time by force
of habit. My drills and Gerbers always readily align when bringing them into
Camtastic, GC-Prevue or Gerbtool.

The other setup configuration in Gerber and NC Drill for
leading/trailing zeroes I leave at the standard default settings. This also
seems to be the standard default for most every CAD system I have ever used
over many years and thus the fab house have no problems with them and are well
used to it.

Using the CAM generation wizard you should be up and running pretty
quickly, making previews is even simpler. There are a few minor
pitfalls (different reference point for Gerber and NC files,
different leading/trailing zeroes setting etc), but most good
fabhouses correct those correctly on the fly.
Scanning the PEDA archives for CAM and Gerber will provide you with
(links to) almost everything there is to know about it within the
context of P99SE ...
