Dear Colleagues
Following my post of yesterday, see below, I would like to emphasize that
we are looking for some people who would like to organize a workshop on
Peirce's logic at the 8th UNILOG. People interested (a workshop can be
organized by 1, 2 or 3 people) can contact me at [email protected]
Here is an example of how to present a workshop at the forthcoming UNILOG:
Workshop on Artificial Intelligence
https://sites.google.com/view/unilog2025/workshops/artificial-intelligence
We had a Workshop "Around Peirce" at the 6th UNILOG in Vichy in 2018:
https://www.uni-log.org/wk6-PEI.html
I would also like to point out the following entry that I have produced
as the logic area editor of the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy:
"Charles Sanders Peirce: Logic" by Francesco Bellucci and Ahti-Veikko
Pietarinen
https://iep.utm.edu/peir-log/
and see my paper
 “History of truth-values", in D.M.Gabbay, F.J.Pelletier and J.Woods (eds)
Handbook of the History of Logic , Vol. 11 - Logic: a history of its
central concepts, Elsevier, Amsterdam, 2012, pp.233-305.

In the third section of this paper entitled "The initial bouillon: three
wise men", I discuss the ideas of Boole, Peirce and Frege about
truth-values, presenting in particular the three-valued truth-tables drawn
by Peirce.

The 8th UNILOG (World Congress and School on Universal Logic) will take
place in Cusco, December 4-14, 2025:
https://sites.google.com/view/unilog2025/
20 years after the first edition in Montreux, Switzerland, in 2005, and
there will be an excursion to Machu Picchu during the event, probably
between the school and the congress.
As in previous editions, there will be a series of workshops.
To organize a workshop is fairly simple: we need a title, the name of the
organizer(s), a short description of the topic followed by a list of 5/10
points, according to the same scheme as the workshops which are already
on-line:
https://sites.google.com/view/unilog2025/workshops
In this page, besides the workshops which are already projected for the 8th
edition, you can see the workshops at previous editions of UNILOG.
We are open to all aspects of logic: history, philosophy, mathematics,
computation, semiotics, relations between logic and other fields.
See "Universal Logic: Evolution of a Project"
https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11787-018-0194-7
Looking forward to seeing you in Cusco next December!
