You can try to explain an abductive example within a syllogistic format, eg,
Minor premise (the surprising observation) Major premise (the assumed hypothesis of IF-THEN) Conclusion (THEN...the minor premise has validity within this major premise, but you still have to format it properly... This has nothing to do with Sung's syllogism. The format that Sung is presenting his syllogism in - remains fallacious. It remains as an illicit major fallacy because his major premise is distributed in the conclusion and undistributed in the premise. I've given examples - and that's as much as I'll do.
