I do not think so. To accept the existence of abstract objects or structures is 
not the same thing as saying those structures are instantiated everywhere.

Frederick -- The abstract way that you make this statement of semiotic 
functions alone invites a pansemiotic perspective.  You have the semiotic 
functions with no particular embodiments, and then take the biological 
embodiments of these functions as evolved instantiations of them, therefore as 
not being originary.
