As a person who does a lot of talking within, I must suggest that even spirituality is a high-flown term. My notion of it is more in the spirit of Jesus' evocation of Abba who is after all the one he recommended we address in the only prayer he ever is known to have recommended, presumably written by his own hand. Abba is a scandalous familiar and that is how I see him. In any case Peirce seems to have held that we do talk within to someone. I do not presume to know. But he also talked about memorial maxims and left us some memorable ones. With all the attention lately to what seems to me a highly specialized area of what? Logic?semiotics? I welcome the attention to spirituality as a topic germane to today and to Peirce, who after all described his later years in terms of response to his own spiritual sense of things.
