No problem. This was as much for me as anything as it’s frankly been over 10 years since I last really read any Derrida. The reason I like forums like Peirce-L is as much to force me to engage questions or mistakes in my thought. I need that inquiry that comes out of dialog as when I’m just reading I seem to learn far less. I’ve come to not enjoy reading that Derridean style. Indeed I’ve come to hate it when others do it. However in content I think the differences between the two are pretty subtle. (An other figure I think fits is Ricouer and while he’s had big debates with Derrida I think the differences there are also more subtle than first appreciated) In any case in terms of clarity of thought I find Peirce superior to all other philosophers I’ve read. So I usually try to think through other works in terms of Peirce.
