List--some here may be interested in this, forwarded from the Biosemiotics
list. Best, Gary R

Dear friends,

I'd like to suggest you to listen the recent lecture by Denis Noble in the
British Physiological Society:

http://www.voicesfromoxford.org/video/dance-to-the-tune-of-life-lecture/699

Denis Noble was the initiator of the portal Third Way of Evolution -
http://www.thethirdwayofevolution.com
and is the author of books

   - 2006. *The Music of Life: Biology Beyond the Genome*. Oxford: Oxford
   University Press.
   - 2016. *Dance to the Tune of Life: Biological Relativity. *Cambridge:
   Cambridge University Press.

He was also the principal organiser of the Royal Society conference "New
trends in evolutionary biology: biological, philosophical and social
science perspectives" that took place in London last month, November 7–9,
2016. The webpage of the meeting is now supplied by audiofiles of the
presentations - see

https://royalsociety.org/science-events-and-lectures/
2016/11/evolutionary-biology/

This was a historical meeting, I think, in shifting or replacing the
neo-Darwinian paradigm.

Many of these ideas are already known to us for years from our Biosemiotics
Gatherings. Which means - I am pretty sure in this - that the big biology
will meet semiotics not in a very far future.. :-)))

Cordially,

Kalevi
