I too will miss Eliseo, although I only met him once, at the Lowell conference in 2014. We had a conversation between sessions that was one of the highlights of the conference, for me, as he radiated warmth and generosity, not to mention his Peirce scholarship. I wish we could have continued that conversation after the conference. And I hope that some part of his spirit will live on in our peirce-l conversations. Gary f. Peirce Society that Eliseo Fernandez has passed. I can't begin to tell you how saddened I am by this news as Eliseo was not only a great Peirce scholar, a profound and generous human being, but also a very good friend. I owe him more than I could ever say. At the moment I have no words to express the sorrow I feel at the loss of a truly great man. In Memoriam After a long battle with cancer, Eliseo Fernandez passed away on May 13, 2017. He had worked for many years at the independent Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering, and Technology in Kansas City, Missouri. An expert in Charles S. Peirce’s philosophy of science, he wrote many articles on biosemiotics inspired by Peirce’s work.
