I am highly skeptical about your assertion, Jon. Can you demonstrate how Venn diagrams relate to the logic of combining the qualities of hydrogen with the qualities of oxygen to generate the qualities of water? Or, the qualities of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen to generate the 16 optical isomers of hexoses? Of course, it would be easy to question your assertion with several millions of examples. CSP was trained as a chemist and most of his writings are consistent with chemical theory as it stood in the 2 nd half of the 19th Century. Or, do you, Jon, believe otherwise? Cheers Jerry
