John, Edwina, Michael, List: I seem to recall being scolded more than once on-List for allegedly putting words in Peirce's mouth. In this case, he never used the term "objectified idealism," but he did use "objective idealism" and explicitly endorsed it as "the one intelligible theory of the universe" (CP 6.25, EP 1:293, 1891). It strikes me as a bit presumptuous to suggest, 129 years later, that "he ought to have said" something different from what he actually did say.
