I just checked my spam trap and found 8 or 9 posts
from the Peirce list that hadn't made it through.
I guess the Bayes bot needs a bit of re-training.
Thanks very much for the references on the history of category theory.
That wasn't a Wikipedia article -- MyWikiBiz is an open site
that uses the MediaWiki software, but it's wholly independent
of Wikipedia and intended to serve a different set of purposes.
I use it mostly for developing "works (eternally) in progress".
The thing I was trying to focus on was the unifying idea that
I think I can see persisting from Aristotle through Peirce
to the present use in algebra, whatever the differences
that otherwise exist.

consider

for an over-all history of category theory, from Aristotle to the present,
including a discussion of Peirce, and
Jean-Pierre Marquis, From a Geometrical Point of View: A Study of the History
and Philosophy of Category Theory (Heidelberg/Berlin/New York, 2009)
as a follow-up from Felix Klein to the present for a discussion of mathematical
category theory.

Time has not been permitting me to keep up with the slow readings,
