Hello all,

As I enlisted here some week ago or so and also made some posting today, I
will now also give some short introduction about myself.

So, I am Dutch. 32 years old. Have followed some long education, mainly in
management. Specialism first in logistics, bachelor level. Then I entered
university. My main university was Erasmus University Rotterdam, where I
studied Business Administration. Some months exchange study at the Prague
University of Economics in Prague. This was one of the most wonderful times
of my life, meeting a lot of friends from all kind of nationalities. My
specialization at University was change management, which aims at learning
consultancy skills.

Then after University, I was in a SAP implementation project for about 1,5
year. This was a multi-plant implementation, besides a plant in Netherlands
some plant in the Czech Republic was involved. Since I was basically the
most well informed and knowable person of this Czech plant at that time
(since I was also working there before and during my University studies a
bit), I was also responsible for communication with the Czech plant.

Then, after this project, I kind of choose to follow my own path of life.
Which meant that I started working on some PhD research project in own time.
Meanwhile I started some company, but this is not running well yet. I am now
in the process of trying to get my company, which will aim at consultancy
services, well running. The webpage of the company is www.wilvon.com.
Besides, I am probably able to complete my PhD research project within some
3 months or so. After that I might try to get some parttime university
teacher job also.

I am very interested in the language turn in philosophy, sciences like
Rhetoric and Semiotics. I am currently in a discussion group of very
critical PhD researchers and some professors at Erasmus University. We try
to meet each Monday to discuss several issues and texts. Next weeks Rhetoric
will be discussed, several aspects of it. I am very proud that Deirdre Mc
Closkey, who is very well-known in the field of Rhetoric, is joining our
discussions. I came to know here personally since last year, and ever since
I got a lot of very useful information and tips from her.

Basically, I am in the learning process myself a lot now. Intellectuals like
Nietzsche, Machiavelli, Spinoza, Aristotle have given me lots of insights
about life, mainly also because of the good discussions we have on Mondays
about them. And some professors joining play a very important part in my
developments. Regarding rhetoric, I am also reading Jacques Derrida and
Umberto Eco's works. Now reading some texts of Peirce in the Essentials of
Peirce volume I and II. Although I think some critical things can be said to
his theories (especially when understanding them better) , overall Peirce's
works are great.

Kind regards from the Netherlands,

Wilfred Berendsen
