Dear all Seaman,
After long time I only read all the massage came in from our newsgroup
"pelaut" then now I try to gave some comment for the recent issued.
I think that the issue about our seaman were poor quality is right.
Of course it is not all of our seaman some were in good or in excellent work.
My opinion about 60 - 75 % in bad and abt 25 % is good.
But if we compare to Philipino seamans, of course we are far from them. We
need extra work to reach their level of skill.(Refer to skill means are
Language, Computer ability, and good seaman ship).
If we compare to Myanmar crew then we same or maybe little higher them
Myanmar.
I was working at Korean ship now crew from Indonesia & Myanmar. Our
Indonesian AB the English speaking OK but working very slow. The job could do
less than 1 hour became 3hr because he must think first.(actually it is the
common work).
Also He so many complain for everything.
For Officer if can not prepare the ship documents then it is a big problem.
But luckily in my ship all officer can do their job excellent.
I agree if all officer should understand computer at least can fill up the
ISM document.
My ship lies at Japan port right now (I use internet rent w/charge
300yen/hour) and I surprise because one big ship about maybe 60000gt(new ship)
behind my ship, all crews from Philipino. Then I ask to our agent he said that
the owner is Japan and I surprise that the SUPERINTENDENT is from Philipino. So
you can imagine the Japan Company choose the superintendent from Philipino. How
high their level now ???????
So now we can start to improve our skill at least get near the Philipino
crews Level.
Of course some of our friend already in same or almost same level as
Philipino.
Remark:
-I use English so our friends realize that the English language is very
important for seaman
in international community. Sorry for that.
-Salam buat Pak Budiman yg tambah nge top sekarang.

Great comment Capt. Akhmad!
Maaf sebelumnya Capt, tapi saya tergelitik mau komentar sedikit atas
Masalah homesick.. iyalah semua pasti kangen ama rumah... tapi kita
diatas kencing berdiri...yach kita ngencingin mereka dong! Artinya,
Kalo Master Indonesia aja melaporkan crewnya sendiri demikian,
lagi....
Thanks....
victor
NB: Pak Budiman... ngomong2 Capt Oro itu dari mana? Phillipina atau
Jepang? Thanks Pak.... wishing will able to see u at office at
incoming weeks.
