Sreekumar called back to inform me that the vessel which is a dredger is at the outer anchorage. This is a relatively small private port and access to the vessel may be very difficult, even if a boat is hired to reach the roads. Do you have a mobile contact number of any of the crew on board. This will be helpful as Sreekumar can talk to the crew and get details. Meanwhile he is also trying to find out the local agent and will contact him once he gets the details. Will keep you posted. Dear Jasvinder, We have received information that 9 Indonesian crewmembers on board of the above captioned vessel have not been paid for the past 6 to 7 months and that they are now stranded on board without provisions and fuel. We believe that the vessel, is lying at the port of Karaikal, Pudicherry in Tamil Nadu, although a considerable distance away, i believe that the nearest inspector that we have to this port is brother Sree Kumar in Chennai Does Sree Kumar have any contacts within this port any assistance whatsoever that you may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated but if possible can you arrange to have the vessel visited I will be contacting the Indonesian state owned company and their managers regarding this, I will of course copy you in on this correspondence, according to the information we have been given, the vessel was and may still be chartered to a Singaporean company "Sss International holdings Pte Ltd" but i have not yet been able to find any relevant dept or email address for them, I have tried several times to call the number listed on their website but have not got any reply.
