L.P. rails against a report by Stansfield Smith. The main contention of
Smith's article is that the Guardian and other media assert that Ecuador
has sold to China the oil rights to a chunk of its rainforest -- when in
fact it has not. From Smith:

The end of January a news article appeared, “Ecuador To Sell A
Third Of Its Amazon Rainforest To Chinese Oil Companies,” and has
resurfaced again and again on the internet. Almost all these stories
refer back to one article three years ago, in March 2013, in Australian
online journal Business Insider. Now almost three years later, no
rainforest has yet to be sold to China, but the same concocted story is
repeated.

L.P. goes on and on about other things regarding Ecuador. In one phrase
he tacitly admits the above is the case, yet the bulk of his post
attempts to imply the opposite.
