Dear pen-llers:

While back I sent a call for support of Davis-Bacon. This sign on is a little
more specific. We believe the CBO figure that proponents of repeal are citing
are flawed in that the Congressional Budget Office only considers direct
procurement and compliance costs that would be saved if the prevailing wage law
were repealed. The CBO figure does not deal with direct or indirect costs to
the government in event of a repeal. Basically, the methodology is very bad and
we are calling for a new study to examine ALL costs and benefits associated with
the Davis-Bacon Act and its possible repeal. Those who are economists
(Ph.D.'s) interested in signing on, please send to me immediately:

your full name as you would like it to appear
         position and title
         organization
         fax number
         phone number

We appreciate your support. This might help to slow down legislation or to get
people to reconsider reform instead of outright repeal.
Thank you for your help.
