This spring I'll be teaching a basic economics survey course, combining micro and macro, and am looking for possible readings books appropriate to this (pre-principles) level that have readings in BOTH micro and macro. My initial text is a conservative book by B. Schiller called ESSENTIALS OF ECONOMICS, and I want to broaden the perspective of the class either with a readings book or with an inexpensive second text; currently I'm leading toward the readings book option but am unaware of a single book that combines both macro and micro readings and is largely or wholly written from a left perspective. (THE IMPERILED ECONOMY is too old and too expensive for my purposes, and the option of having them get both REAL WORLD MICRO and REAL WORLD MACRO is also too expensive.) Any suggestions? Responses could be directly to me or to the list if there's some feeling of general interest. Thanks. Paul Burkett [EMAIL PROTECTED]
