Although Art MacEwan's request was for quantitative articles I would
also point out that David Gordon published the first piece on crime in
the RRPE, circa, 1971. It was titled, "Capitalism and the Economics of
Crime. In 1983, Gary Nickerson, published "Analytical Problems in
Explaining Criminal Behavior: Neoclassical and Radical Economic Theories
and an Alternative Formulation," RRPE, 15(4) (Winter):1-23. N. Rafter
also has an interesting piece entitled "Crime and the Family" published
in Socialist Review, 19(1) (January-March):123-129.

K. Opp (1989). "The Economics of Crime and the Sociology of Deviant Behaviour:
A Theoretical Confrontation of Basic Propositions, Kyklos, 42(3):405-430 is
also worthy of looking at.
