Greetings, PEN-Lers! I recently noticed a change in the behavior by one of my (former) credit card companies. In previous years, if I asked for the firm to waive the annual fee, they would agree to do so. This year, however, the representative of the company told me firmly that the company was not waiving any annual fees during all of 1997 and that they were instead focusing their efforts on reducing their interest rates. Is anyone else experiencing this? On another subject, immediately prior to the State of the Union address and over the last several days since the address, the Colorado Democrats have been running ads against Gingrich and Dole and their approach to budgetary issues and particularly Medicare and Medicaid. Colorado seems to feature predominantly in Clinton's reelection plans, despite the small number of electoral votes (seven, I think) offered by the state. Best wishes, Steven Zahniser [EMAIL PROTECTED]
