Hello, PEN-Lers:

I am teaching an introductory economics class that normally meets once a
week for several hours but has one class session -- get this! -- that
meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on one Saturday! Needless to say, I am
concerned that six hours of my lecturing might violate some state or
federal standard governing air pollution. ;)

Therefore, I am looking for one or two class activities to liven up this
session. We will be into the macro. section of the class, although the
activity could pertain either to micro. or macro. (or both). One thing
that I had thought of was to play one of those federal budgeting games,
but I was concerned that they might dwell too much on balancing the budget
and too little on thinking critically about government borrowing. I am
open to showing a video, especially if it covers a general subject related
to macro.

If people wish, they may communicate their suggestions directly to me, and
I will produce a synthesized version of all the suggestions and post
them to PEN-L.

Also, please note that I have a new e-mail address:
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]". My partner and I have just relocated to the
Bay Area, where I am teaching courses at the UC-Berkeley Extension
Program, Holy Names College, and Mills College.

Best wishes,

Steven Zahniser
