As Barkley mentioned, I am no longer a flame-thrower. But I have been sorely tempted. You may recall how miffed I was a few months ago when I submitted an article on African music to Z Magazine and never got a response. When I told a friend of mine who has a rather high profile in the academic left what happened, he said he wasn't surprised. He called them the Boston Mafia-- a real clique. At any rate, a little while ago when I did a web search on "energy tribes", I found that the first entry that popped up was something I wrote for PEN-L and the Marxism lists on this exact subject. When I clicked it, I was linked to the Z Magazine archives. Hmmm. I don't recall giving them permission to print this. As a matter of fact, I'd rather eat a dead dog's penis than have any thing to do with Z Magazine. Louis Proyect
