pointing up once more the excessively North American character of pen-l.
Re Australia, if Rob doesn't feel like addressing a question, we have
no one else to offer a ground-level view. Of course the total absence
of regular German correspondents is a much greater scandal, especially
since the SPD victory. How do we deal with this? Any hands, class?

I see that Pauline Hansen did poorly in Australia. The extreme right
fell
back in Germany. What is happening? Are the conventional right parties
just coopting their program or is something else afoot?
