Doug: There's stats and stats -- stats that prove that things are getting better; stats that prove that things are getting worse. Has it evcer occurred to you that all of the elites of the world, and their tame economists, WANT statistics that prove that things are getting better? I gave a couple of examples in a recent post (Trujillo, Duvalier). These are not rarities. What government wants to show that it is failing? Let me translate what I said in the previous post for you, using simple, understandable words: I don't have time to engage in this kind of debate. Who's "losing?"
