Jim and Michael say they understand me, but I don't understand economics
because I use unconventional terminology, and besides not all new stuff is
good, so we should not have any people in a postcapitalist society devoted
to creating new needs and satisfying them. OK, as I said, you stand with
Carrol and the ascetics against Marx, Mises, amd me. Just so long as we
understand each other.
What has Posner done to earn our respect? a great deal. In additioon to
being an excellent judge, he is a pre-emininent legal theorist and social
critic from whom people of all political persuasions have a great deal to
learn. I'd take him over a great many Marxists any day.
