I'm not "into" Israel, but Milken's contributions to schooling in Los
Angeles have been okay. He helped the school for kids with special needs
that my son goes to, but also has a private high school named after him.
The latter seems part of the general movement to abandon the public school
system, leaving it as a garbage pail for the disenfranchised.
Milken's institute (for the study of labor and capital, whatever it's
called), however, used to sponsor serious scholarship (hoping to be like
RAND) but now is more into producing press releases and acting as a bully
pulpit for business executives who want it.
