A dimissive retrospective review is in the Winter 1997 issue
of Dissent by ex-NAM member, Joanne Barkan. Much more negative
than the Robert Heilbroner review in the NYRB back in '66 or
'67. For a more positive review of Bran & Sweezy see Peter Clecak,
"Radical Paradoxes; Dilemmas of the American Left, 1945-1970,
" Harper & Row, 1973. Also looks at C. Wright Mills and Marcuse.

BTW, pen-pal Charlie Andrews' FROM CAPITALISM TO EQUALITY has
some useful
perspectives on "Monopoly Capital," but he doesn't address the
book at
length. I wouldn't say that his book is as dramatic as MONOPOLY
CAPITAL,
but it's quite a useful treatise on the subject of the laws of
motion of
capitalism.
