We have had our differences with Republican Congressional leaders and President Bush, but on this we are completely united. Attacks on thousands of innocent people cannot and must not be tolerated. Further, we applaud the measured, careful steps and words coming from the Administration. Our resolve to attack those who have attacked us should not become an excuse to rush to judgment. Our justifiable anger must not lead us to acts of prejudice against any ethnic or religious individuals - Americans or guests - residing in this country. We must ensure that no more innocents become the victims of this outrage either at home or abroad. Our sense of loss is boundless. Our prayers are for our country, the victims, and their families. 25
