New New Dealism? by Devine, James
That doesn't mean that I'm advocating "maximalism," in which the only alternative to capitalism is socialism. Rather it says that the fight for reforms has to be considered in terms of mobilizing people for even more, in terms of empowering people. ^^^^^^^^ CB: Communists call this struggling for reforms in a revolutionary manner. Seems to me the demand for Roosevelt's Economic Bill of Rights is a _radical_ reform demand. a step beyond the New Deal. Also, we would demand repair of the New Deal, repeal of Taft-Hartley, et al. . The Economic Bill of Rights would be a series of constitutional amemdments. I'm trying to think what specific demands would be "in between" this and nationalizing the big banks and companies, etc.
