Below is an article from <Turkishpress.com>. I just read an article by a finance columnist at the Turkish daily Radikal a short while ago, arguing the possibility that the American support of the Kurdish in Northern Iraq is to pave the road for Turkey to enter Iraq and let them clear the way before the American forces get there. Once the Turkish forces clear the way, the Americans take over the rest, and, possibly, take the Turkish forces with them to capture Bagdat. Of course, this scenario entails the US screwing of the Kurds, as usual I might add. And many signals that we have been receiving make me think that it is highly likely that this was what the US has been doing. As you may recall, a while ago Michael Perelman made a few comments to that effect and, him and I agreed. It seems that this columnist now joined Michael and I. He even says he wouldn't be surprised if the former "conqueror of Cyprus" Bulent Ecevit becomes the "conqueror of Norther Iraq" before the November 3rd elections.
We will see. Let me reiterate this wellknown saying, at least, back home: "I may be a paranoid but this does not mean they don't follow me." Sabri ++++++ Gurel: I Hope Everybody To Act With Common Sense IZMIR - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sukru Sina Gurel said on Tuesday that he hoped everybody to act in common sense while talking about a possible operation against Iraq. When reminded about the words of Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal who said that "if an operation takes place when the existing government is in power, this will be a great disaster," Gurel said that "in fact, the thing that will cause a disaster is voicing of such words about the future of the country by persons who don't know their position. I hope everybody comes to his/her senses and understand the fact that there is a responsible and experienced government in the country." Gurel stressed that the government informs all the parties represented in the parliament about foreign policy developments, adding that "we also fulfill the mission of giving information about any new developments." "Turkey has the power to take all sorts of measures and to protect its rights and interests against any threats in its region," he said.
