I might be misremembering, but I think Robert Schaeffer's book, _Understanding Globalization_ is actually pretty good. I think bright upper-division undergraduates could get it pretty quickly, and it is good on geopolitics, ecology, and economic questions. Thompson and Hirst's _Globalization in Question_ is an excellent text if you want something that does severe damage to globalization myths. The Held book is good too.
