In Detroit there is a demonstration being built for April 5 that will be
probably 10k-15k, twice or three times the size of March 15, due to the
participation of a number of key African-American churches and the fact that
Rep. John Conyers and the UAW International is pushing it. I understand the
UAW has assigned staff to build the march, which is extraordinary.

If a mass anti-war march made up substantially of African-Americans takes
place in Detroit, that could be a redefining moment in local politics. I am
cautiously optimistic.
