The meetings of the American Economic Association are over.  Maybe my
choices were not representative, but the conventional economists' papers
were woefully superficial.  Far more serious was the small number of young
radical economists -- especially those born in the U.S.
Seeing list members in the flesh is always the highpoint of the meetings.
Martin Hart-Lansdsberg gave a paper he briefly discussed on the list.  I
would like him to lead a conversation about it.
