Coronating Kerry: I tip my hat to the dark side

"...I can see why some people will embrace the election. They believe that since Kerry will be somewhat better than Bush it is worth it to buy the idea of this election having meaning. But the powers-that-be know that you will vote your wishful-thinking heart time and time again for the lesser of evil..."

"...Each time they will offer you one candidate further and further away from your best interest, and you will vote for the other one who is also opposed to your best interests as well, but seemingly just a little bit better. And they will keep moving this equation until you are living in a fascist country with a military dictatorship that you voted for by believing that its opponent was worth the vote because while he was also fascist, he wouldn’t impose a military dictatorship yet..."
"...Pragmatists, realists, rationalizers and shape-shifters can all tell me that the only thing that is important is defeating George W. Bush. I think it is more important to defeat the people whose interests he actually represents. I don't think that happens with a John Kerry presidency..."

=============================================
The question is whether you believe what John Kerry said on Super Tuesday or not. Is he saying what he thinks you want to hear? Because I'll tell you what he votes can be far different from what he quotes.

I grew up when Roller Derby and Professional Wrestling first hit television. They were very popular with the American people and they both were fake. I loved to watch the Harlem Globetrotters play basketball when I was a kid even if we knew that the fix was in and they would always beat the Washington Generals. But then again, that was the 1950s, we are in a much more sophisticated time where presidential elections are stolen and no one raises it as an issue during the campaign for the next election.

Yes, I am Johnny-one-note on this. I believe that the corporatists who look at the current administration as hired help, feel that since they also have the most potent war machine that the world has ever seen and control the most highly developed media mechanism for mind control, that they shouldn’t have to give up power regardless of who is president. In other words, I think that John Kerry wants us to believe that he is Bruno Sammartino and not Killer Kowalski, but either way he already knows the outcome of the bout.

John Kerry is called liberal or leftist by the opposition. If Kerry is a liberal or a leftist, what does that make me? Kerry voted for NAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and PMFN trade status for China, the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Welfare Reform, the 1996 Anti-Terrorism Act, Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act and voted to give George W. Bush total power to wage war in Iraq. Sounds like a true liberal to me.

I finally have realized the difference between a liberal and a member of the Democratic Leadership Council. A liberal rings their hands and even may shed a tear before casting a vote to wage a totally unjustifiable war. A DLCer just casts the vote without all the histrionics.

The fact that I went into a neighborhood high school the other afternoon and voted in the Democratic Party primary for president really amazes me. I witnessed the theft of the 2000 election in much the same manner I watched Jack Ruby kill Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963, live, on network television. I am aware of all the new technological advancements in voter fraud that are newly in place for this election, so how the hell do I have the unmitigated naivety to believe that my vote will be counted?

.... I had thought that the powers-that-be, the ruling elite, the international corporate cabal, had already decided that it was time to take some pressure off and have the appearance of a regime change here with the passing of the torch to John Kerry. I assumed that those on the managerial level of Bush’s operation would fight like hell to preserve their boy in power. I expected a dirty campaign but assumed that Kerry would emerge triumphant. Americans would breathe easier with the illusion that democracy works. Those without jobs or healthcare would have some faith restored. The American people would find it easier to swallow when the draft is restored in April of 2005 under a Kerry presidency. But now I’m not so sure.

This spring offensive is really so pervasive that maybe the powers-that-be has not yet decided which member of Skull and Bones they want sitting in the oval office come January 2005.
And not that long ago I was excited by the planned spring offensive of people of conscience, here is what was on my mind then:
If you believed that the 2000 election was stolen by the Bush administration and I just don’t mean that metaphorically, I then ask you how can you possibly believe that the 2004 election will be conducted in a free and fair manner?

I haven't heard anything about an international commission being formed to insure that the elections will be honest, have you? If I saw Jimmy Carter on the news stating that he was traveling to Florida, Texas, California and New York with an independent commission to supervise those states in the 2004 election I might risk being fooled again. But with nothing even remotely planned to make me believe that the 2004 election will not be rigged, I think it is time better spent to plan what we could do for what will come after the election regardless of who wins.

I can see why some people will embrace the election. They believe that since Kerry will be somewhat better than Bush it is worth it to buy the idea of this election having meaning. But the powers-that-be knows that you will vote your wishful-thinking heart time and time again for the lesser of evil.
Each time they will offer you one candidate further and further away from your best interest, and you will vote for the other one who is also opposed to your best interests as well, but seemingly just a little bit better. And they will keep moving this equation until you are living in a fascist country with a military dictatorship that you voted for by believing that its opponent was worth the vote because while he was also fascist, he wouldn't impose a military dictatorship yet.

This may appear preposterous to some but I am now am only going to talk to those of you who already see the scam for what it is. The 2000 election was stolen and I’m afraid that they are not prepared to give it back yet. Hey, you can vote in the sham, be my guest. But unless the exit polling asks you whether you believe that your vote is being counted accurately, your appearance at the polls this November will be worthless.

I put it to you this way, the election was stolen, and then came along 9/11 and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq with Halliburton et al ringing in the profits from war, and now we are supposed to vote for a candidate who voted for the war, still spouts the existing cover story for 9-11 and is the favorite son of many a PAC including his brother’s law firm and its client list of major pharmaceutical companies. See, I didn’t even mention that they are both members of the ruling elite’s Skull and Bones Society as was Teresa Heinz Kerry’s first husband, the late Senator John Heinz, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash.

What exactly was the difference between George W. Bush and John Kerry when it came to invading Iraq? Kerry spent some time wringing his hands before voting in favor of it?

Do you believe that John Kerry will not reinstitute the draft in the spring of 2005? Do you think that Kerry will be better than Bush when it comes to your rights or the economy? Let me say this again: Kerry voted in favor of NAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and PMFN trade status for China, the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Welfare Reform, the 1996 Anti-Terrorism Act, and Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act and voted to give George W. Bush total power to wage war in Iraq. In other words when it came to advancing the major issues of the ruling elite Kerry was a typical Clintonista, he voted for the whole program.
How long before we have a fascist country with a military dictatorship? Well I pose to you that it really doesn't matter how long. What matters is what we are going to do about. I am excited about the 9/11 Conference that is going to take place in San Francisco in the end of March. I am excited about the demonstration that is going to take place on the first anniversary of the Iraq War on March 20th in New York and other cities.

I am excited about the spring offensive by the people of conscience.

But I think we have to do more. I applaud all the people of good will who have used the Internet to mobilize people to pressure elected officials and therefore become an effective lobby. I think the exchange of information that takes place on the Internet is the lifeblood of the resistance. The Internet is a tool and so many progressive minded people have utilized it both brilliantly and courageously.
But I want to talk about what we can do now to enhance our chances of survival and ability to resist even if they take the Internet away from us. Can we still pass on vital information and continue to organize without the Internet? I wonder.

Its time to start planning a strategy for how we can function as a resistance living in a fascist country with a military dictatorship. Did I get your attention?

....In New York City, where I live, in the past few weeks there have been massive sweeps against young men whose only crime is being African-American or Latino. Police are picking them up under any pretense, questioning them. and then holding them for ten days at Rikers Island before releasing them. At the same time there is a bill in the state legislature to pass a law that would make three misdemeanors equal to one felony. Is this a prelude to the Republican Convention coming this summer? Or is it an attempt to make it impossible for these young men to vote? Whatever it is, it's not been covered in the press. I wonder why those same pastors, politicians, and broadcasters in the African-American community are not worked up about this?

....I think that John Kerry is lying to me. Sorry, but this version of JFK, knows how to play the game. Promise them jobs. By the way, thanks to Dennis Kucinich, for forcing Kerry to say that he won’t institute the draft. But unfortunately, I am afraid that John Kerry is lying to me. It will be much easier for Kerry to institute a draft than it would be for GWB. And there is a draft coming. Remember, John Kerry talks the talk but when it comes to voting he isn't about walking the walk for your interests.

Pragmatists, realists, rationalizers and shape-shifters can all tell me that the only thing that is important is defeating George W. Bush. I think it is more important to defeat the people whose interests he actually represents. I don't think that happens with a John Kerry presidency.

Super Tuesday: I'm Voting for Kucinich

At one point I had every intention of changing my registration and leaving the Democratic Party in protest over the votes for the Patriot Act, Homeland Security and the Iraq War. But since I didn't get around to taking care of the necessary paperwork, I'm still a registered Democrat.

Today is Super Tuesday and I'm going to vote. I will vote for Dennis Kucinich. Its better to vote for who you want and not get than to vote for what you don't want and get it.

Kucinich represents my best interests far better than any of the other candidates still in the race.

Some say that they are voting for Edwards to keep the debate going. Others are saying that it is necessary to vote for Kerry to show strength and unity. Others say a vote for Kucinich is wasted.

I say shut up!

Pundits, pollsters and pranksters aren't going to stop me from voting for my best interest. Electablity is supposed to be determined after the vote is counted not before.

Others supporting Kucinich include: Willie Nelson, Barbara Ehrenreich, Ed Asner, Ani DiFranco, Ben Cohen, Danny Glover, Grace Paley, Hector Elizondo, Winona LaDuke, Pete Seeger, Grace Lee Boggs, Howard Zinn, Studs Terkel and Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey.

Get off your ass and vote for Kucinich as if your life depended on it.

Its with mixed feelings that I address the Nader candidacy. The ABB (Anybody But Bush) crowd is freaking out that Nader is running. I listened to Nader lay out his program and since there is really nothing in it that I can disagree with, the man must be unelectable. He is accused by his Democratic opponents of doing this because of his massive ego and that he will siphon enough votes away from Kerry to secure the election for Bush.

My initial reaction is that this won't fly. I think that there are more than enough people out there who will vote for Kerry because of Bush-fear to out distance any inroads that Nader might make.

The pundits tell us that the issue is jobs and the economy. Is there much of a difference between the way Kerry voted and Bush's program on economic issues? Forget about what Kerry is telling us now, when it counted the man voted the DLC line. As a matter of fact, there really is no difference anymore between the Democratic Leadership Council's program and that of the so-called liberal wing of the Democratic Party. Republican-lite is what we get.

I like the fact that Nader is challenging the occupation of this country by the corporate elite.

Kerry can't do that and take money from them and Bush would only defend his corporate sponsors.

With Kerry we will get some crumbs that won't fall our way with Bush. Is that enough for you?

I can't tell you now that when I'm in the voting booth in November that I won't pull the lever for Kerry myself. But I am damn sure that I will know who Kerry really is before I cast my ballot his way.

When you vote for the lesser of evils you are assured of getting evil.
