an update: chavez has just announced that he is withdrawing personnel
from the embassy in bogota, sending 10 battalions immediately to the
frontier with columbia and will not go to a major latin american meeting
set for colombia at the end of the month; he is clearly calling upon
leaders of other countries (eg., argentina, bolivia, brazil, etc) to
show unity in this vs. Colombia ('the Israel of Latin America') and US
imperialism.
