according to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, we're in a
"down-decline." That sounds _worse_ than a recession. If I remember
correctly, the word "recession" was invented as a euphemism for
"panic" or "crisis." BTW, we're both of those.

(The word "depression" started as a euphemism, too, if I remember correctly.)
