Japan was one of the Imperialist powers (perhaps even the worst of
them all) that conducted genocidal wars inside China. And there are
some disturbing signs that China may be turning into an Imperialist
force of its own in Africa and elsewhere.

Colonial oppression is not exclusively the white man's sin.

CB: What you say is true, but it does not contradict the point being
made here. The US had dropped a bomb on Japan , an Asian "raced"
nation. This could logically contribute to China's fear that the US
would more readily resort to carrying out its threats to nuke China , an
Asian "raced" nation. China's decision to institute capitalist
relations of production was influenced by the longstanding danger of
being attacked by the US , as another factor in US threats was China's
status as a Communist nation.

Take a look at the related threads on Marxmail to see the issue. The
issue was not was or is Japan an imperialist nation. It was that China
is bringing capitalism to China, not the US or Britain (or Japan for
that matter) And so, China with Chinese national characteristics is
different in a critical way than an imperialist nation bringing
capitalism to a colony, as when Britain brought capitalism to India, or
other colonies. It is different than capitalism in China with US or
British characteristics. One reason that China brought capitalism to
itself was to avoid being colonized capitalistically by the US.
