the GDP is a measure of market activity (exchange-value) not of what's good for people (use-value). If you want something that's closer to the latter, look at the Genuine Progress Indicator at http://www.rprogress.org/sustainability_indicators/genuine_progress_indicator.htm By the way, the cursor disappears when I use G-Mail on Firefox.
