I'd take it a bit further and ask why this level of dollar decline and inflation is their bottom line? Is this a place they felt ready to address based upon their decision to let the dollar drop awhile back?

And also can they halt the slide now? Without provoking worse more drastic recessionary pressures from being released? I mean raising interest rates now would they provoke a sharper recession and more economic pain? As I think likely, or is a soft landing possible still?
