Thu Jun 19, 2008 GROZNY, Russia (Reuters) - A week-long film festival in Chechnya had been designed to prove the south Russian republic has ditched its war-torn past. Instead it coincided with an upsurge in rebel attacks. During the seven days of the festival, which ended on Thursday, rebel attacks on Russian military convoys and a raid on a village killed at least six people and injured around a dozen more in the mainly Muslim republic, the authorities said. http://www.reuters.com/article/filmNews/idUSL184617620080619?sp=true _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
