This is the most recent book of Robert Kagan, a neocon par excellence,
which appears to have been published very recently. I was at Grand
Central Station today, planning to go to a Turkish restaurant to eat
stuffed mussels, my favorite Greko-Turkish food, and decided to read
something while eating it. So, I went to a book store there, and found
Kagan's book on a display.

It took me four hours to finish it and three glasses of Sangria at a
bar next to the Turkish restaurant at 3rd Av and 28th Street in
Manhattan, after the stuffed mussels.

The book is pretty short, about 105 pages. I strongly suggest that you
buy that book, if you have not bought it already! And if you read it,
you will see why I am worried about a possible suicide of a section of
the US ruling class, if that section can hold on to power. So maybe,
Oh-bamba is "better" than McPain.

Because, on the jacket of the book there are four advance praises by
these: Senator John McCain, Senator Joseph Lieberman, Former U. S.
Ambassador to the United Nations Richard Holbrooke and Council of the
European Union Robert Cooper. Indeed, Kagan quotes Cooper several
times in his book.

Kagan divides the world into two and a half: democracies, autocracies
and Islam, Islam being the one-half. Democracies are the US, EU and to
a lesser extent Japan, India and Brazil (no mention of South Africa,
although he mentions South Korea in passing) whereas autocracies are
Russia, China and to a lesser extent, Iran. He claims that 21st
century will be a fight between these and calls the US to responsible
action.

But, he is most worried about Russia and this book appears to have
been written before the recent "Russia-Georgia conflict". Indeed, in
his book he mentions this conflict is a possibility in the future.

I wish I had more time to say more about the book, but I am sure you
don't need my comments to make up your own minds.

Happy reading,
Sabri

PS: I forgot to mention: He never mentions Israel in his book, or
maybe he does once or twice, but I might have missed it after the
second glass of Sangria.
