It has been a while I read Resnick and Wolff but I think I understand their argument about overdetermination, about class and non-class dynamics. What are the theoretical critiques of this approach in so far as understanding social reality is concerned? Does their argument rest on the epistemological notion that is economic reality cannot be reduced to something as simple as the market or is it that reality is basically unknowable because it is determined by multiple processes?
