Capitalism creates continuous misery for many, not just misery in cycles. Some cities have been in depression for decades. How many don't have much to lose anyway ? Avoiding economic collapse hasn't led to much of a progressive movement in the last few decades. Why is it that the greatest US political gains in the last 150 years were made in the 1930's ?
