As the US recession gathers force and is more than matched by the growing problems in many third world countries---the question of China and the extent of its decoupling from the global economy becomes more important.


The publication Against the Current has just published a piece of mine ("The Realities of China Today") that discusses the nature of and dynamics driving the current Chinese economy; the last part of the article examines China's position in the global economy and discusses the decoupling argument.
