Eugene Coyle writes:

"David,
You first asked " Is there any standard and relatively noncontroversial study
of the economic consequence of the imposition of the 8-hour work day (or other
similar limiitions) that examines the effect on profits? "
A noncontroversial study in economics? I assumed you knew the answer to that
one.

But if you will send me, or point me to the data set for the easy question you
later framed I will take a look at it."

Sandwichman, where are you? I gotta believe you have this at your fingertips.
Eugene -- you asserted the proposition that shortening the work day will reduce
profits and redistribute income. I assume you have some empirical basis for
your proposition, so what is it? Why put the burden on me -- I am just asking
questions.
