Three authors: first, philosopher Gerald Cohen has written a couple of
excellent responses to Nozick from a Marxian perspective. (Sorry, I don't
have the references to hand. One article is on "how patterns promote
freedom", the other one takes issue with Nozick's modification of the
Lockean proviso.) Second, Kenneth Arrow has criticized Nozick's
entitlement theory of justice--the article is included in Volume I of his
Collected Papers, on Social Choice and Justice. Third, there's a chapter
on Nozick in John Roemer's Theories of Distributive Justice.

Anyone have a reference for one or more respected responses to Nozick
(in particular Anarchy, State and Utopia)? Anything other than or
along with material by John Rawls. Thank you,
