Sorry, the second try will be a charm?

I sez:
The letter is feeble principally because Swarthmore's deep pockets alumni
probably have portfolios similarly proportioned to Swarthmore's own endowment,
and hence are themselves tapped... relatively speaking, of course.
I received an e-mail epistle along more or less the same lines from my own alma
mater, which is tucked into the same upper middle class/liberal arts niche
as Swarthmore, although it's deservedly famed for being more "pwogwessive." For
the last few years its big campaign (or the big campaign of its self
appointed defenders, I should say) has been to disavow any responsibility for
spawning the career of the redoubtable Michelle Malkin. It's embarrassing
enough when the first US college to admit blacks and women features as its most
high profile graduate an attack dog advocate of Japanese internment and
deporting all the brownskins without papers. It's downright awkward when said
attack dog is a Filipina-American female and said school was too often an
incubator of the worst kind of identity politics.
Anyway, just some inchoate reminiscing since I crashed the gates of 40 a while
back. Carry on.
PS Patrick, I understand the merits of tactical interventions and tactful
prose, but really... social investment funds? This coming from someone who has
compellingly ripped to shreds the Grameen Bank and micro-credit hoaxers?
