what if the California state employees who Arnold furloughed two days
a month without pay were to show up at their workplaces and try to do
their normal work (admittedly without pay)? It may have been done
before somewhere, but it would be an act of defiance that would boggle
the minds or "minds" of Arnold _et al_. It would show that state
employees are more interested in the people of California than Arnold
and the state leg. It might actually be fun. Since Arnold's army would
likely not allow them to do much work, it could be easy. Except for
the commute, of course.

(Here in L.A., it seems that traffic is down, first due to the
oil-price spike and now due to the recession. But that may be an
illusion based on a small sample.)
